Prof. Em. Joseph Martial

Joseph, Professor Emeritus at the University of Liège, led the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering for over 30 years. He co-founded and chaired GIGA, an interdisciplinary research cluster integrating academic research, tech facilities, and biotech companies. He's also on the boards of multiple biotech firms, co-founded Eurogentec, and chaired Diagenode. With 275+ papers and 12+ patents, he's a member of Belgium's Royal Academy of Sciences and was granted hereditary nobility by King Philippe on October 25, 2018.
